Below are some links to webinars that either arise from the ITOW project research, or are closely related to the work we’re doing.
The first is an introduction to pauper letters, presented by our very own Peter Jones. It gives a broad overview of how the letters that we have been studying came about, and some background on the nineteenth-century poor laws more generally.
This next one is by our Co-Investigator, and National Archives Domestic Records Specialist, Paul Carter. It asks key questions about peoples’ attitude towards the 19th century workhouse and explores some of the wider issues related to the “workhouse experience”.
